Retro-Printer Software Safety Documentation
The Retro-Printer Software complies with the relevant provisions of:
- General Product Safety Regulations
General Product Safety Regulations
The Retro-Printer Software has been designed with safety principles in mind.
Whilst not intended for use by children due to its technical nature, it does not warrant the use of an PEGI age rating. The software’s use is solely to emulate the operation of a printer with data collection and processing only undertaken on the Raspberry Pi and not shared with any external parties.
Collected data consists solely of the data which has been captured from the connected parallel port of a connected computer or other equipment, which was originally intended to be printed to a connected centronics printer.
The software includes the standard Linux distribution for the Raspberry Pi with the latest updates to address security vulnerabilities as at the time of distribution, plus our printer emulation software written using the latest safety by design principles in C.
We reserve the right to update the software at any time and publicise updates to the software on our Retro-Printer support forums and make it available for general download.
