Maguire WSB Gravimetric Blender

Maguire Gravimetric Blenders are probably the most popular gravimetric blenders on the market, having been in use in industry since 1990.  The older WSB series have been fixtures in plastics manufacturing facilities around the World.

The early WSB series models used a 6811 controller model, which allows output to an RS232 serial printer (such as a MOD-PRT thermal printer) or a centronics printer.  However, industrial customers were finding that as they move to reduce waste, they wanted to reduce the mass of printouts being generated each day from the blenders.

The Retro-Printer module can be used as an interface between the Gravimetric Blender and a PC so that log files could be inspected much more easily (and any mechanical issues found quickly).  Further development would be to parse the logs and feed alarms and messages into a SCADA dashboard.
